YOUR DONATIONS CAN BE THE REASON AN ANIMAL FINDS HOME THIS CHRISTMAS
Christmas is a time for cosy cuddles, safety, and family - but for thousands of furry friends, it means loneliness and a whole lot of uncertainty.
Right now our shelters are bursting at the seams with lost and abandoned pets looking for a family to curl up with.
Your donation can make their dreams come true this Christmas.
With every dollar, you’re helping deliver warm blankets for chilly nights, urgent medical attention, a plan to get them home - and all the TLC they need to heal in between. Together, we can give these pets the love, care and hope they deserve!
Join us in making their Christmas wish come true.
Donate over $100 for your chance to win a Visa gift card valued at $200!
*PLUS, we’ll put a treat on the gift tree on your behalf!
Be the reason they find home this Christmas ❤
Christmas is a time when everyone deserves a home, but caring for over 1000 animals every single day comes at a huge cost.
Through no fault of their own, we are seeing the daily number of lost, abandoned, stray and surrendered pets rising. At the same time, with adoption rates dropping, many animals continue to come into our care - scared, confused and in need of our help.
Charlie was hit by a car when he was brought to us.
A gentle Border Collie, Charlie required urgent medical attention to survive and round-the-clock care and rehabilitation. Luckily our vet team saved his life in the nick of time before finding him a new, loving home.
Charlie’s story is one of thousands we see each year.
Our shelters are doing all they can, but we’re reaching capacity, and without government funding for our welfare work, every meal, every bed, and every life-saving surgery relies on the generosity of our community.
Your support could mean the difference between a lonely Christmas for animals like Charlie, or a warm, loving home.
Will you be the reason they find home this Christmas?
We never stop over Christmas, but we need your help to find every animal the home they deserve.
It’s only thanks to supporters like you, that we’re able to keep our shelter running and care for animals who might otherwise be left all alone.
But what does this look like? Through your support, our top-notch team of vets, foster carers, and volunteers are there to offer belly rubs, warm beds, and lifesaving care to thousands of lost and abandoned pets (even over Christmas!).
From their first timid steps through our shelter doors to that tail-wagging moment when they find their forever family - AWLQ is there every step of the way, making sure they have a home to stay.
In 2023, we helped 7,201 pets land in loving homes and reunited 2,923 lost pets with their families.
With your support, we’ll keep bringing tails and hearts together this Christmas and into the future.

CHARLIE
When I arrived at AWLQ, I was scared, confused, and had a badly broken hind leg after a terrible accident where I was hit by a car. I felt so scared.
But the AWLQ team was there for me from day one. They cleaned my wounds, gave me soft blankets, and whispered kind words that made me feel safe again. Slowly, with each scratch behind the ears and the kindness shown to me, I began to trust
Just 13 days later, a family came. They looked past my missing leg and saw me. AWLQ gave me the care and love I needed to find my forever home—and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
ROXY
When I first arrived at AWLQ, I was just a scared stray with a big heart and an empty tummy. At 1 year and 5 months, I weighed a mere 4 kilos, emaciated from wandering the streets alone.
Vets believe I’ve already had a litter of puppies, which only added to my challenges. I dreamed of belly rubs and a warm bed but felt like hope was slipping away.
Then everything changed. This amazing place welcomed me with love, tasty food, and kindness that melted my fears away. With every meal, I gained strength and soon hit 5 kilos!
And recently my wishes came true - I was adopted into my new perfect family.
NESSIE & KITTENS
I’m Nessie, a Tonkinese cat who came to the pound as a very pregnant stray. I needed an emergency Caesarian to give birth and save my life. Sadly, two of my kittens didn’t survive, but my other three kittens, Star and Dusty and Wednesday were miraculously resuscitated by AWLQ staff who incredibly saved their lives – and mine.
Just hours after their birth, my kittens went into foster care with Sam, who bottle-fed them every three hours. They thrived and were adopted on their very first day available!
Thank You for Getting Them Home...
