Willy's One of a Kind Story
This is the incredible story of Willy. Willy arrived at AWLQ with a one-of-a-kind issue: two penises, two tails and a severely nerve-damaged hind leg, impacting his ability to walk.
AWLQ designed a world-first surgery for Willy’s one-of-a-kind anatomy, amputating his leg and both extra appendages to give Willy the chance at a happy and healthy life.
And that’s what can happen when a community of animal lovers comes together.

What is AWLQ Giving Day? How does it work?
Giving Day is about bringing a community of animal lovers together to support animals in need and the people that love them.
It is a chance to come together across our community, Rehoming Centres, Community Vet Clinics, and Thrift Shops to make a huge impact for animals in need in just a single day.
Giving Day will run for 24 hours on Thursday 17th September, beginning at midnight and continuing until 11:59pm that night, with the goal to raise $300,000!
How can I support AWLQ Giving Day?
You can support AWLQ Giving Day by making a kind donation.
All support on Giving Day supports your local Rehoming Centre, Community Vet Clinic and our Outreach and Education programs. Your compassion empowers this vital work in your community.
On Giving Day, every donation is doubled thanks to generous matching partners and donors until the matched pool is complete. For example:
A $50 donation becomes $100
A $250 donation becomes $500
Donations can be made online, at any of our Rehoming Centres, Community Vet Clinics or Thrift Shops or by calling (07) 5509 9033. You can also help by sharing AWLQ’s Giving Day with your family, friends or local community.
What does ‘matched dollar-for-dollar’ mean? How is my impact doubled?
When you donate, an additional donation is automatically added from our generous pool of matched partners and donors. For example, if you choose to donate $100, a second $100 donation is added to your donation from matched partners and donors, increasing the total raised to $200, doubling your donation and doubling the impact your compassion can have.

Where do the funds go?
Your kind donation will go towards keeping animals safe, loved and with the people who cherish them. Whether this means supporting the cost of rehoming the animals in our shelters and helping them find forever homes, funding our shelter clinic to save animals that don’t have a family, or supporting us to provide vital veterinary services through our Community Vet Clinic, your donation will go to where it is needed most and help animals in need and the people who love them.
