We never stop over Christmas — and with your help every animal can find the home they deserve.
Thanks to supporters like you, our team is there for thousands of lost and abandoned pets, providing warm beds, gentle care and lifesaving treatment when they need it most.
From their first timid steps through our doors to the joyful moment they find a forever family, AWLQ is with them every step of the way.
GIVE THE GIFT OF A SECOND CHANCE THIS CHRISTMAS
Christmas should be a time of comfort, joy and belonging. But for thousands of animals in our community, it’s a season filled with fear and uncertainty. Your kindness this Christmas can change that.
You can give an animal a second chance - the chance to feel safe, loved and part of a family. Together, we can bring comfort, joy and hope to every animal who deserves to feel the true spirit of Christmas.
Every day, animals arrive at AWLQ needing urgent care.
Some are surrendered by families who can no longer cope. Others are found injured, neglected or simply lost.
Among them was Marley, a gentle 13-year-old Maltese who arrived frail, malnourished, with painful ear infections and severe untreated dental disease. It was clear Marley had been unwell for a long time.
From the moment she arrived, our team surrounded Marley with love and reassurance. She received surgery, medication and gentle care — all made possible by people like you.
When she awoke from surgery, Marley gave a tiny wag of her tail. It was the first sign she felt safe again.
Today, Marley is healing in a loving home. She’s safe, adored and finally at peace.
EVERY SECOND CHANCE BEGINS WITH YOU
We're not just a shelter, we're a lifeline for animals in need - and it's all thanks to you!
We rely entirely on donations to care for over 11,000 animals annually.
Be the reason animals find...
SAFETY
11,283 animals cared for in the past year.
HOME
7,311 animals found loving homes last year.
HOPE
5,962 animals nurtured by our foster carers.
LOVE
2,364 lost pets reunited with their loving families.
And Marley isn’t alone.
Every day, animals arrive at AWLQ in need of urgent care, each with their own story of heartbreak and hope.
Nicholas was one of them.
Nicholas, a young cat, arrived at AWLQ with a badly infected facial injury. He was in pain, frightened and needed urgent surgery.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Nicholas received expert veterinary care and a safe place to heal.
Today, Nicholas is safe, loved and thriving in his forever home.
His journey, like Marley’s, is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when our community stands with us.
Because every second chance begins with someone who cares.
This Christmas, your kindness can give the gift of a second chance.
Will you help make more stories like Marley's and Nicholas' possible?
