Please help support us as we aim to give the dogs in our care a special space that will further enrich their time as they wait for their forever home.
Life in an animal rehoming centre can be confusing and even a bit scary for our shelter dogs. Our team at Animal Welfare League Queensland work hard to ensure the animals in our care are as comfortable as possible filling their days with exercise, affection and enrichment.
Our aim is to upgrade our existing dog yards and re-design the areas in our Gold Coast Animal Rehoming Centre to incorporate specific elements that tailor to both the physical and mental wellbeing of the dogs. These include:
- Upgrading ground surface
- Enrichment toys
- Sensory garden
- Agility equipment
- Shade and shelter
- Themed areas
- Seating areas for both dogs and handlers / or potential adoptees
Exercise and enrichment are a crucial part of daily care for any pet but even more so for those waiting for their forever home. This is why having a space where our shelter dogs can be stimulated both physically and mentally, is so very important in our commitment to ensure their stay with us is as comfortable as possible.
