IMAGINE A CHRISTMAS MORNING WHERE EVERY HOMELESS ANIMAL, LIKE IVY, OSCAR AND WATKINS, WAKES UP IN A HOME FILLED WITH LOVE. THIS IS THE DREAM WE STRIVE FOR AT AWLQ, AND TODAY, WE INVITE YOU TO BE A PART OF THIS BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY.
THEIR HARROWING START
In late September, under the cover of night, Oscar and Ivy were found alone and in distress, left in an overnight holding pen. Despite their cheerful character, they were in a dire state and suffering immensely from severe mange. They could not be identified or returned to a home they might have lost.
THEIR EYES, FILLED WITH UNCERTAINTY, REFLECTED A LIFE OF HARDSHIP.
BUT FROM THAT MOMENT, THEIR JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION BEGAN WITH AWLQ.
In our mission to rehabilitate animals in need, we often encounter heart-wrenching stories, such as that of Watkins.
His journey took a dramatic turn when he was tragically hit by a car. Brought to AWLQ’s Community Vet Clinic, he received immediate pain relief and care.
X-rays revealed a broken right hind leg, leading to the heartbreaking necessity of amputating his injured leg. Unfortunately, his owner made the difficult decision to surrender him for further treatment and a chance at a new life.
A TALE OF HEALING AND HOPE
Their road to recovery began at AWLQ, where extensive medical care awaited them. This, combined with our promise never to euthanise a healthy, sociable or treatable animal in our care, gave them the best chance. They embarked on a challenging journey to heal both in body and spirit.
With every treatment, every comforting word, and each day spent in the loving care of their foster families, Ivy, Oscar and Watkins thrived. Their playful antics and affection are testaments to their unbroken spirits.
Their tale illustrates what can be achieved through compassion and support. Thanks to the unwavering care of AWLQ and the generosity of supporters like you, Ivy, Oscar and Watkins overcame their ordeal.
Their journey is a reminder of how your donations can transform lives, offering a second chance to animals in desperate need of care and love.
Yet, their journey was incomplete without the one thing they wished for the most: a family to call their own.
THIS CHRISTMAS, BE THEIR MIRACLE
Today, as they thrive under the loving care of their families, their greatest Christmas wish is simple – to help other homeless animals like them find a happy home where they can wake up to love and warmth on Christmas morning.
Their story is more than just a wish. It reminds us of our ongoing commitment to every animal in our care who depends on us for a second chance at life. This festive season, we ask you to be part of their story of hope.
You have the power to grant a Christmas wish for a shelter animal.
With an average cost of $729 for preparing a dog and $598 for a cat for their new homes, your generous support will help them find a happy home.
BE A PART OF THIS BEAUTIFUL TRANSFORMATION. YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL NOT JUST CHANGE THEIR LIVES BUT BRING IMMEASURABLE JOY AND HOPE.
Every dollar helps a wish come true. Let’s come together to give Ivy, Oscar, Watkins, and many like them the ultimate gift this festive season – a chance at a life filled with love and joy.
